Nadine Bernard Westcott is the illustrator of many popular books for children, including Mrs. McNosh Hangs Up Her Wash and Mrs. McNosh and the Great Big Squash, as well as the author and illustator of The Lady With The Alligator Purse. She used to spend many hours chasing after her dog, who would come home only when ready and not a minute sooner. Ms. Westcott lives on Nantucket with her husband, Bill.
This book was a quick read! For younger students I️t would be perfect and it’s very crafty. The story is about the zoo animals making a card for you (the reader) so it’s unique.
Genre: Modern Fantasy Grade: K This book is a quick read that young children would enjoy around Valentines day. You could also make it a fun activity for the kids to create their own cards and make fun pop up characters. I really enjoyed this quick read.
K-1; poetry; Such a cute valentines story for the little ones. Not necessarily one you would read aloud in a classroom, but definitely one you could read on the side to kids for fun!
I read this at my preschool storytime and now I have a little boy convinced that zoo animals make valentines for eachother. Score one point for Ms. Brittany! Ha!
This book is very short, but it's the cutest read. A wonderful pop-up book that has rhyming in it for a special Valentine's Day with kiddos. This book would want to be read constantly by little ones because of the wonderful illustrations that show off the animals in the zoo. With the silly little outfits that the animals wear and habitats they live in. You will be able to see what the animals are making just for you!
Very short and sweet Valentine book. It's mainly talking about making valentines for their friends at the zoo and would be a great read to do and have an activity of making valentines afterwards.
Children love pop up books! This book rhymes which is fun, and teaches about Valentines Day! This is a great book for children to learn to read by themselves or be read to!
