An approach for optimized strip layout: A comparative nesting solution for cryogenic vessel parts: A case study

Rate this book
The nesting problem generally refers to the problem of placing a number of shapes within the bounds of material, typically rectangular, such that no pair of shapes overlaps. Most often, it is also an objective to minimize the size of the material which is equivalent to maximizing the utilization of the material. This occurs frequently in sheet metal and furniture industries, wherein material utilization needs to be maximized. A case study of nesting of different components of cryogenic vessel V24DC is consideration by software’s like AutoCAD©, Plus-2D© and Most-2D©.Many researchers have attempted to develop methods or algorithms for nesting different shaped parts on different shaped sheets. Book contains the development of an interactive, adaptive method for optimal arrangement of irregular shapes using heuristic techniques. Customized in-house nesting software named as Opti-N nesting software was developed with objective, platform, compatibility, strength, limitation and solution methodology. Two different variances for Opti-N are developed and checked. Different case studies are made by taking three quantity of each component of vessel V24DC for checking effectiveness of Opti-N
