Don't let my rating fool you. This book provides a great backbone for any introductory organizational development course. In fact, this book is set apart by its heavy emphasis on case studies, interactive simulations and role-plays. As a result, when used in a well-designed course, most of your real learning will not be taken from the pages of the book, but synthesized in the classroom with your colleagues. Hats off to Mr. Brown for such a clever design.

That said, when taken by itself the book is underwhelming, minimal, a bit simple, and overly repetitive. If reading alone, you'd likely be better off with another book. Lucky for me, I got the full package.

Had to read this for an Organizational Development class. Neat little time capsule back to the 2000s but some of the case studies were jarring with hindsight (Boeing.) The information given was relevant for the most part, but for whatever reason it was a chore for me to sit down and read, what should have taken me an hour or two took almost a whole day usually.
