Rate this book
Autobiographical, first person history, of a career of 32 years, ten years in the United States Air Force and 22 years with TWA, starting in 1955. The specific airplanes are primarily USAF training airplanes, C-130 and Boeing 727. It covers changes such as the transition from piston engines to jet engines. It is a personal account with details of specific flights including mistakes. It discusses the problems of pilots and aircraft and the characteristics of different aircraft. And there is the unique experience of flying in Africa in the 1960's. History is woven in without lectures or judgements but perhaps a little opinionated. History with a light touch.
