You know there are some crime writers who never disappoint. Who never fail to grip. Who never fail to display a level of retelling horrific true stories with elegance and awe, that the reader is compelled to writhe in shock and disgust.
Well, Ms Lloyd is one of those writers.
From Red Spider of Katowice to Monster of Dusseldorf, (last words, 'can I see and feel the blood from my decapitation' by guillotine), Ms Lloyd leaves you chilled and glancing over your shoulder. You think you've heard it all yet still are left sickened and drained by murderous details that always defy belief. I love this true crime writer but must get my head clear for a good month at least.
Time for some lighter material, I think.
