Ready, Steady, Rhyme! is such a cute book that uses rhymes of course! The reader needs to do a picture walk through first to make sure the children read the speech boxes first so they can understand all the texts through the story. Students can focus on comprehension, inferring, and cause and effect questions. Students can also discuss the rhyming words and try to continue rhyming using their own words. In addition students can learn about long vowels because there are a lot of them in this story!

This book would help with lesson plans for Pre-k through grade 5. For language arts classes, I would use it for onset and rimes. In math classes, the book could be used to highlight counting by twos. And the book includes pneunonics to help remember historical facts, which would be helpful to include in social studies lesson plans.
