The book begins with an interesting definition of "northwest cuisine", which is inspired by "our indigenous ingredients," morels, chanterelles, oysters, mussels, crab, salmon, berries, apples, etc., and of course, Washington State wine.
The book describes the Pacific Northwest's best eating establishments in such a way that makes you feel like to are friends with the owners. However, the most valuable parts of the book are the recipes, in my opinion. That alone is reason enough to purchase this book.
