I read this book for book club last month. I don't remember much now but it was enjoyable up until the most pitiful drama at the end. It was definitely centered around friendship and gave off a bit of a YA vibe which only made it okay for me.

Logan & Colbie were cute. Logan is a man who skates, reads books, and is not afraid to get his hands dirty (he owns a landscaping business) - okay! He fell for Colbie really hard and I was swooning. The story was pretty good, it was a little too wordy and overly detailed at times. But, I did appreciate the low level of drama and more focus on the couple loving on each other. I also really liked the emphasis on male friendships, as well. I would read more of this authors work.

If You Fall

Colbie and Logan were cute together. This was a nice read, showing the organic and innocent way a relationship evolves and love grows. Colbie, learn to use your words. She was prolonging what shouldn’t have lasted so long. Cute read.

Can I start by saying that I fell in love with this entire friend group? Ezra, Logan, Shane, Khalil, Blyss, Colbie, & Teagan. They make the cast of friends look mid. But are way more adventurous and younger than the cast of Living Single.

Blyss drags her big sister Colbie to a skating rink to meet her boyfriend and his friends. Colbie can't skate which means most of her night is spent hugging away or sitting and watching. Logan offers to keep our girl company and things progress from there.

This book was a guide to dating and getting to know someone. I wanted to do all of the things these two did one on one and in a group. Roller skating, kayaking, game night, gardening, book discussions/buddy reads, swimming, grocery shopping, cooking, and the list goes on.

I was getting feel good Hallmark vibes. The spice is pretty vanilla, our girl knows how to ride that's for sure lol. But it wasn't boring in the least.

With that said there is conflict as most romance stories have and I was in my feelings about it because these two allowed what was going on with others to disturb their peace. Also, our girl acted super immature and needed to be checked. With that said, I did appreciate how the conflict was addressed. I know I've said this about another one of Kizzie's stories, but I feel like readers who lack emotional maturity and/or know how to effectively communicate, and handle conflict could learn a lot.

Where to begin. The relationship between Logan and Colbie grew rather quick and you can tell it was genuine. It is a relationship of most women’s dreams; the attention, the caring and togetherness, etc. It was like reading about to lovesick teenagers, yet they are adults. Real Romance!!!

I like how he had hope for the relationship after Colbie got upset and broke communication. I did not like that she would not hear him out. I also did not like how Khalil handled the relationship with Blyss, which caused their issue. But this book was not about them, lol. Khalil’s apology to both Logan and Colbie helped to change the course of matters, as well as Blyss’ apology. And Blyss talking to Colbie also helped in my opinion. Logan had real friend because they checked on his mental when they noticed their friend moving differently.

Was very happy when Logan and Colbie reconciled and she agreed to learn to communicate her feels. Not many words were spoken when they initially laid eyes on each other, as they made up for lost time; yet a conversation was had. Logan’s reassurance to being there in every way for Colbie was truly romantic. A cute love story with a happy ending.

Now I want to go skating and I have not seen a rink in years, lmbo

Cute

This was nice. Colbie and Logan were a cute couple who had pretty instant intrigue and attraction for each other and didn't play games trying to fight it, which was refreshing.

Not sure how old these characters were (I'm guessing young 20s) but it read almost like a YA story. I liked the bond the main couple built, though there was next to no conflict until later in the story. At times it read like a series of lists, with every little action being described and certain words being used repeatedly throughout (i.e. 'collapsed', 'deadpanned').

I did very much like Logan and how he dealt with the situation that came up between him and Colbie. What he told her was what I'd hoped he'd say. And I appreciated how she handled it. So yeah, cute story.

Cute Book!!

If it wasn't for Blyss, Colbie and Logan wouldn't have never met. Skating wasn't het thing. They bonded of books and gardening. Khalil should have made it clear that he asked Logan what to do. Colbie was riding for Blyss so much she talking to Logan. Misunderstanding led to their break up. They picked up where they left off. Hey at least Colbie can stand skates now.

I loved this book. It was fun and flirty. Colbie and Logan were made for each other. The whole skating theme brought back memories of my teenage years. I look forward to reading book 2 in the series.

This book was sooooooo cute. I LOVED that it tied skating and reading books together as a way for two people to fall in love. There were a lot of cute moments and then moments you didn’t agree with what the character chose. On an editing standpoint, there were wrong character names being mentioned and misspelled words.

This book was one of the books from the Black Readers Appreciation Event #brae2023 . I’m so glad that I picked this up.
