I'm not one for a lot of self help stuff. To quote Han Solo, "Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid" but this is actually pretty accurate and essential for articulating your own self awareness.

People familiar with True Colors will keenly ascertain, based on the above paragraph, that I am a Green woman. It's nice to know there are others out there as disenfranchised and isolated as me and that I probably found just the right work for myself.

Also, good for funny Star Trek jokes.

I was a little surprised how much I liked this. I am biased. I really find personality tests and profiles interesting. I'm an INFP for Meyers Briggs, and the descriptions I read about it online were mostly accurate. In this book, I thought I'd be a blue, but I ended up mostly a green, then probably gold. I'm not entirely green, but definitely more that then the other colors. I found the colors told me something new about myself. The colors are not the same as Myers Briggs, so it is worth a read and a self-examination.

The first chapters introduce the background and overall idea of the program. The next chapters cover each of the 4 colors by giving you a general profile, traits and values of each and a list of jobs that fit each color. Then, the last couple chapters serve as motivation and an actionable plan to get you from where you are to a place that fits your personality. It was all pretty good stuff.

It was nice and short too, which is always appreciated. 4.5 out of 5.

This was a nice follow up to a half day class I had taken. This book was able to provide insight into my area of work and how I can become a better co-worker and boss. I enjoyed digging deeper into my characteristics and qualities and see where there is room for improvement. A good, quick read.

Technically had to read this for a class, but still enjoyed it! Love the idea of the concept, but it certainly seems tricky to identify with only one...however, it reminds me greatly of the enneagram personality numbers, where you may have a wing of another number.

This is really more of a life guide that works really well for narrowing in on the careers that will be most rewarding for you. Explains the viewpoints of other people quite well too.

When reflecting back upon this book, I realized that the only time this type of book will interest anyone is if that someone is truly looking for self improvement or going through self discovery, and that's a shame! This book should be given to every high school junior and senior to prepare them for life after high school. As a high schooler, I feel I was ill prepared for the career life. I believe if I had a guideline like this book it would have helped immensely and spared me some of the mistakes I've made. At the very least, it would have helped me paint a better picture prior to my mistakes. Everyone should read through this book.

I'm a green!!! This means I seek knowledge and understanding, need explanations and answers, value intelligence, insight, integrity and justice, and am a natural non-conformist, visionary, and problem solver. Who knew??

Not a bad start for a student advisory book. I found it a little pseudo-sciencey, but as long as this is discussed with students it will be fine.
