This book provides a detailed description of a cactus which is believed by the Tarahumara Indians in Mexico to have special power and which the Tarahumara make use of in special ceremonies. Claus Deimel provides some general background information about the Tarahumara and their culture bevor moving on to speak about the híkuri and the rituals at which it is used. The book includes many photos and original speeches which provide fascinating insights into the rituals and culture of the Tarahumara.
