For years, emergency and trauma physican Michael Abrams saw his patients dying in every conceivable way. In time he began to wonder if there was anything he could do to help the souls of the dying make the harrowing transition into the next world. Extending himself to the dying in a silent communion akin to prayer, he made a life-changing discovery
This is an intriguing book that has helped me cope with my sudden loss. It has led me to the author James Van Praagh, as well, also comforting. It gives me great comfort to know that our loved ones haven't left us, just have moved "behind the veil" so to speak. I had a tough time wrapping my mind around some of his concepts, but overall would recommend this to anyone grieving.
This book was incredibly comforting to me. My grandmother passed with Alzheimer's many years ago and the authors explanation of what he witnessed gave me peace about her many years with the condition.
Before he became an emergency physician, Abram’s life was saved by the voice of an angel. He then experienced a series of losses that left him homeless, sleeping in a friend’s basement, and it was at this low point that he decided to become a doctor. While practicing in a trauma center in Western Colorado several years later and observing the deaths of many patients, he began to sense their lingering souls. He also felt the presence of other beings, which he describes as “presences of light and love and wisdom.” This book is primarily a record of his dialogue with a certain evolution angel, describing a spiritual journey more than a play-by-play account of his experiences in the E.R. By quieting his mind and asking for guidance, he is given answers to some of life’s big questions, such as why we suffer so much pain, what happens after we die, and the identity of God. Some of the ideas presented may be difficult to accept, especially for those firmly rooted in Judeo-Christian teachings. The author’s use of different pen names, Dr. Michael Abrams and Todd Michael, has also raised some questions. Whether or not the reader believes that this presence was “real,” or that we are all of one Spirit, the possibility that all life is closely connected may become more plausible after reading these pages.
