This was one I won on Goodreads.

It was a short little read with a workbook in the back so you could write down your goals and assignments. You could read it in a day.

I like some of the things I learned from it- like which of the 10 "Money Roles" represented my attitudes about money. I was "the Uncertain." It was interesting to think about my spouse, friends, and family too. (Some of the others are "the Penny Pincher, the Martyr, the Reckless, the Deal Chaser, the Unfulfilled...") One often has a couple of secondary money roles too. http://www.moneyplainandsimple.com/mo...

I used the workbook, but I did find some difficulties with it. If you're "Reckless" the workbook is perfect for you. You will be tracking the things you will not be spending on. But for some money roles, you actually won't be saving on little expenses (e.g., penny pincher) and it didn't seem to work.

It definitely helped me set some goals and take a look at some of the habits I didn't realize I had. Didn't necessarily change me for life, but I will be working on my weak areas. Some parts of the book were a bit repetitive and some did not have enough explanation. They often point you to their website for that.

I also won this book from Goodreads. It is a very quick, easy read, but does require you to analyze your behavior in regards to money. Although I have read it through one and a half times, I'm not entirely sure I get all the steps to work the program the way it is intended. I like the formatting with the colors and text size, but some of the examples distract instead of help me. I plan on reading it again and starting the charts and questions at the back of the book.

The best thing about this book is that it requires you to examine the way you interact with money. It will help you identify your money role and create a plan to change your role for the better. Some of the steps involved are not entirely clear. Others seem redundant, but overall, Money Plain & Simple is an excellent tool for revolutionizing your finances through dedication and self-exploration.

Money Plain & Simple was a great read. There are a ton of books about finance but Money Plain & Simple is the only book I've read that addresses how we relate to money and how that relationship affects all aspects of our lives. I liked the layout which I found was well organized and easy to read. I actually found myself highlighting certain parts as I went through so I could easily reference them.

Ever wondered why you behave a certain way with money? This book uses a simple, concise method to explore your money habits, and better yet change them. We all have a relationship with money, so everyone will find some value in this book. For me, I am not a daily monitor of my spending, but found I could adapt the concepts to work for me.

I liked this. It was pretty clear, and helped me to understand finances. I'm not sure it would solve everyone's financial woes though.

I won this from First Reads.
