Halimat Bashchievna Bayramukova (might be spelled: Khalimat Bairamuklany) [Халимат Башчиевна Байрамукова]. Soviet poetess , prose writer, playwright , member of the Writers' Union since 1939.

After graduating from the Khurzuk school, Halimat entered the feldsher-obstetric school in the city of Mikoyan-Shahar.
Since 1935, when she just turned 18, she began to work as a literary employee in the regional newspaper “Kyzyl Karachay”. A year later, her first poem "To My Country" was published on the pages of this newspaper. This was the beginning of that powerful literary stream, which is now called "the work of Khalimat Bayramukova."

She studied at the Pedagogical Institute, then graduated from the Literary Institute. M. Gorky and the Higher literary courses in Moscow.

During the war, she served as a nurse at the 2436 evacuation hospital for 11 months.
She was the secretary of the Komsomol organization.
She worked as the executive secretary of the regional newspaper, the first consultant of the Karachaevskaya writing organization, the chief editor of the Karachay-Cherkess book publishing house, for more than 10 years she headed the writing organization of Karachay-Cherkessia.
At the request of Halimat Bayramukova at the Literary Institute. Gorky opened a translation department in the Karachai-Balkarian language.

Khalimat Bayramukova is the author of 14 collections of poetry, four novels, five novellas and many short stories, four non-fiction books, the libretto of the first national opera "The Last Exile", as well as the first Karachai musical comedy "The Familyless Bride". Her works were published in fifty languages ​​of the world.
Her first literary work was the play "Two Hearts", published in 1939. She published it at the age of 22. at the same age, Khalimat Bayramukova was admitted to the Union of Soviet Writers.
In subsequent years, collections of poetry and stories appeared.

Bayramukova also acted as a translator from other languages ​​into Karachai: Russian, Kazakh, Avar, Vietnamese, Bulgarian, Belarusian, etc.

“My Life” is the name of the last book of the writer, published in the year of her death - 1996. It is an autobiographical book, the fruit of life observation and reflection, which gives a deep understanding of the environment in which she grew up and matured.
