Our favorite team of Homicide Detectives are back with a case that hits close to home with Wyatt when a body washes up on a beach connected to his ‘Ask Molly’ column. How does his advice leave behind a murder victim? And will they catch the killer before there is another?
Meanwhile Devon, Alexis and Ava get put in the crosshairs when a fellow student brings a gun to school and holds up his class containing his bullies. Will everybody get out alive and unscathed? Or will tragedy strike more than once?
This one conflicted me more than I have ever been reading. After all the bombshells unearthed in the previous book I was so excited to read this. And after finishing the last page I'm unfortunately feeling underwhelmed and disappointed. Please don't get me wrong, there are several messages throughout that are extremely important. Especially towards the end. But this book completely ignored the majority of the plot threads that the author had cultivated with the first two books. There was just so many things going on it felt like all the building suspense was non existent. In saying all of the above I will say several small parts brought a smile to my face. I will keep reading as I need answers but hope this book was just a once off and we can find out some more answers in the next one.
This book has a lot going on in it and much of it is not connected, which is fine, but I was hoping to find out more about Hallie and her past. We do get a tiny glimpse, it’s almost like a tease but I’ll take it as I am dying to know about what happened to her and the ‘monster’ she fears.
There are two main suspense items in this book and the author almost gently lulls us into a soft mystery that isn’t difficult to work out. Mind you, I enjoyed it and still queried if I was right. The second issue I found absorbing and extremely well written. Both explored bullying and its effect on mental health. Each is so different, yet with possibly the same results. I thought the author handled this very sensitive topic extremely well.
Arianna, Lachlan, Natalia, and Wyatt basically all continued in their detective teamwork. There were some great twists and surprises, as well, along the way. Cooper is such a fantastic little character and adds a touch of humor to balance things out. He stole my heart the first time he appeared and it is locked with the key thrown away, such a cutie.
Unfortunately, I felt the underlying ongoing story was dragged out a bit in this book because there are so many questions that need to be answered… maybe I am just anxious to find out all of the answers, but I do hope the next book does dive into these areas and sort things out. The ending to this story is unbelievably fantastic, the message is vital and the scene is written perfectly.

This is the third book in this series. This is a busy story throughout, and with so much going on, there are so many underlying questions which needed answers, and I was conflicted as this story was a tad dragged out. This story has mystery, a tad suspense, twists, surprised, and humor, which leads to an enjoyable read. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I recommend.
While I didn't hate this book, I was disappointed I guess you could say. I thought the two previous books really delivered, and I felt like this one did not. I felt like a lot of the major plot threads that were in the first two books were completely ignored in this one. I also wanted more information on Hallie and her past. The little bit that we got just wasn't enough for me. Overall, not a bad read, but definitely disappointing compared to the first two books.
This is an intense book with several plot lines and characters to keep track of. Mysteries to solve and back stories to unravel. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I look forward to reading more about these folks.
