Born in Évora in the year 1969, António Almas, revealed from an early age the taste for reading. With particular interest in fiction and essay, he found in Carl Sagan's books, H.G. Well, Isaac Asimov a fascination with science and the fantastic. Always involved in various projects in the area of youth association, literature accompanied his walk, bridging the hustle and bustle of daily life. In 1990 he was a teacher at EPRAL in Vila Viçosa, a land where he has always lived, and where, together with other colleagues, he taught subjects of a Course of Librarians, Archivists and Documentalists. He was later president of the Florbela Espanca Library.
In late 1999, he decided to start writing some notes, ideas and sensations that aroused him in various themes, such as religion, love, or urban myths. This notebook, called "We the Martians," is today an unpublished reference from the beginning of its writing. But it was not in the realm of realism that letters came to her, that metaphor and fantasy coupled with dreams opened the door to her own worlds, images and flavors, senses and emotions. 2005 marks the beginning of a new adventure with the creation of a blog. In this space was born a diary that was gradually built, packed with passion, wrote, under a certain anonymity for someone who, most of the time, did not read it. Text after text created a space that was visited by several readers who also encouraged him to write.
Twenty years after his first steps in the adventure of writing and 10 years after the release of his first book "Diary of dreams", António Almas has published 37 works today, 17 of which are already translated into several languages (English, Spanish , French, Italian and Greek).
