Dual Version - The Trouble with Jake & The Problem with Jake

Rate this book
An Originally Jake and Kathryn’s story was written as an adult paranormal romance. During the pitching process, it was suggested this story might better suit to a young-adult audience. PaperBox Books accepted both versions for publishing. The dual version includes both renditions of Kathryn and Jake's story. The original adult paranormal version called 'The Problem with Jake' and the young adult version called ‘The Trouble with Jake’. A great idea for book clubs, writers and folks interested to see the difference in genres and how they can be used to create unique novels, based on the same premise. While the main plot is the same, the scenes play out differently and the sub-plots have changed because of Kathryn's age, experience and reactions. In the adult romance, Kathryn is 29, engaged, owns a townhouse and is employed as a regional manager. In the young adult version, Kathryn attends university, isn't engaged yet (officially anyway) and still lives with her parents when she's not at school.

Sue Nelson Buckley grew up in Saint John, New Brunswick before moving to Vancouver, British Columbia in 2002.

When asked why she writes she'll laugh and say she can't not write. She's been telling stories for as long as she could talk and writing them down soon after she learned her alphabet.

Her first books published were two versions of the same story. The original version is a regular adult romance which was re-written as a young adult romance. Unable to decide which edition to publish, Sue decided to offer both in a dual version volume.

Her latest novel, Hiding in Plain Sight makes you wonder which is worse, the evil aliens out to get them or the High School drama queen.
