If you are embarking on a new study course or undertaking professional or vocational training, good study skills are a key advantage. This book teaches you how to think in a critical manner, how to write strong essays, reports and presentations, and how to manage your study time alongside other commitments.
Lots of good tips; however, it could not keep my attention. I appreciated the summary at the end of each chapter so I could get the essence of the books without reading it like a novel.
There is only one way to truly describe this book: Functional.
Sure, you could choose other words, but they would all mean the same thing. That's not a bad thing, though. This book is one of the best that I've been able to review for students that gets to the point, has a lot of information that is exceptionally well organised in bite-sized chunks, and is highly utilitarian. It's not just for kids, but also for adults going back to school or college students that never learnt to really study. It's hard to be more useful than that.
I'd have to say the best feature of this book are the mini-quizzes at the end of each chapter to drive the key points home as well as the 10 key point summary at the end of every chapter. If a student needs a brief overview, this is the way to go. Then, they can search the chapter (which is very easy to do) for a few examples on how to pull off the feat.
Will I recommend this to my students? Yes. Will I put copies of it in Insanitek's library. Very yes.
