This book answers questions young people ages 8-12 commonly ask about the distinctive plants and animals of the American Southwest deserts. Features illustrations by Brian Wignall and photos by top Southwest nature photographers.
Reminds me a lot of the books I read as a kid. The illustrations bloom with color, it's a mixture of photos and drawings, the layout keeps my attention, and I keep thinking it's a sticker book for The Magic School Bus...because I think that book was very similar but with a fictional angle and this one is a questionnaire angle. Overall it was a fun, little read.

This book talks about deserts question by question, but it really just deals with North American deserts, so that is important to keep in mind. I like that even though this book states questions then answers them, it organizes things into sections like "Desert World," "Desert Birds," Desert Mammals," and so on. It has pictures to do along with some of the questions and answers and the answers are not too long.
