Based on a true incident in Leavenworth's amazing past, the author once again ties Leavenworth's (First City of Kansas) unique historical past and present day features with a compelling, believable story. Learn what makes this community different from any other Midwestern community of like size. Again, the author features yet another secret Leavenworth underground facility. Retired Army Intelligence Lieutenant Colonel, Enos Hobson, teams up with his daughter, Samantha, and two genealogy experts to track down a homicidal arsonist (The Firebug) who is taking revenge on the descendants of the ring leaders of a 5,000-man mob who burnt an innocent man at the stake back in 1901. Follow the development of Sheba, the Rhodesian Ridgeback hound, into a fire dog. Watch for Enos' double trouble with beautiful women and other romantic surprises.

I knew Bob. The book reminds me of his style of talking. All sorts of tidbits of Leavenworth, past and present. All in all, a good read. More historical tidbits than character development. Some readers may find his blackspeak a bit patronizing, and his jokes/puns droll. Typical Bob.

I bought this book because the main character's dog is a Rhodesian Ridgeback and the author does a great job depicting the cunning and ability the dog has. The plot is pretty good...could work on character development a little more, but it kept my attention all the way through!
