Amazing book of an extraordinary artist. The book shows not only how beautiful and complex the artworks of Magritte is, but also demonstrates the mind behind them all.

The reproductions in this book are wonderful. The excerpts from letters are hit or miss. Too often I found them uninteresting, unintelligible, or repetitive.

Probably one of the best books out there on Magritte due to the fact that it includes not just letters and correspondances between Magritte and Torczyner, but also various concepts drawings and thumbnail sketches / ideas and concepts of the artist's final paintings. It would be nice to see additional works included in the book, but I'm speaking as a real fan of Magritte.
