Christmas in Mill Ridge
Welcome back to Mill Ridge for a special holiday treat! A woman hiding her beauty - An ex-ranger hiding his flaws - Can these two misfits find the spirit of Christmas this holiday or will they run in the opposite direction? Erin Steel knows the people of Mill Ridge can't stand her and she's not complaining. As the former representative from the Teachers Association, she knows moving to Mill Ridge will enable her to live her life in solitude. Hiding her beauty is one thing, but when a man with an eye patch draws her out of her shell, she is determined to avoid him at all costs. Former Texas Ranger, Captain Gray Randall, is a man of few words except when it comes to the new resident in town. Can he get past her shrewd ways to combine forces to take care of family members that need help? Or, will they both drive each other into leaving Mill Ridge for good? This story touches on the elderly and memory loss issues and how families pull together to help.

Dealing with care of seniors was an issue even in the 1800’s. I love Gray and Erin’s solution to his uncle and her mother’s aging and mental problems. Who would have believed love at first sight for Frank and Ruth. This fits with the rest of the quirky romances of the residents of Mill Ridge. I really enjoyed this book.

I always look forward to a new book from Cyndi and yet again I'm not disappointed. Set in Mill Ridge the story focuses on Erin, who became notorious when she worked for the National Teacher's Association and caused trouble for the town's teacher Miss Jennie. The town hadn'hasn't taken to her, something that she has encouraged as she has secrets that she doesn't want to come out, in particular she is always sparring with Captain Randall, an ex Texas Ranger. Circumstances occur where they are thrown together, can they overcome their mutual antagonism?
It's great to be back in Mill Ridge, with characters from other nearby towns also appearing. Along with the romance there is also a great deal of discussion around the treatment of the elderly suffering from memory loss. As usual there is that mixture of romance, humour and some serious issues covered giving a story that I couldn't put down. If you like American Historical fiction you will love this book.

Erin has lived through a traumatic event in her past and feels it is due to her beauty. So she hides her looks with hairstyle, big glasses and dowdy clothing.
She is also hiding a secret about her Mother's health condition. How much more can one woman take?
Gray is a former Texas Ranger that has left his occupation to care for his uncle who is mentally depleted.
These two are like oil and water from their first meeting. Erin's mother and Gray's uncle begin a friendship that lands them all in hot water so to speak and
before they know it, the two couples are married and trying to work out a life that can benefit the older couple and will make it easier on the two care givers
to live a life that will take the pressure off and lead possibly to romance??? Can they pull it off? This is a beautiful romance and a wonderful read.
Cyndi Raye's characters jump off the page and bring you through a beautiful story!

A lovely story told with humor and a wonderful set of characters that touches on the heartbreaking condition of dementia.
Erin Steel has made many changes in her life. Making herself appear older and taking a no nonsense attitude since being herself seemed to only cause problems and had people not take her seriously.
She also had made the big decision to move to small town Mill Ridge with her mother, in hopes that she could keep a close eye on her and people would not be so cruel as in the big city.
Former Ranger, Gray Randall has come to Mill Ridge to take care of his uncle due to him having the same problem with dementia and he having to stay close.
What starts out as these two people meet is a showdown of wills and slung insults but soon all that changes as her mother and his uncle meet and they find out life can surely change in a minute!
Simply made my heart smile and ache at the same time. Not to be missed.

Erin and Gray 💞
I’m so sad that this is the last of the Wichita Falls and Mill Ridge series! After so many books, you get to know the townspeople.
I’m glad they we found out that under Miss Steele’s angry exterior, there was a kind, but hurting lady. Erin made herself out as a shrew to protect herself. She’s now taking care of her mother who has been showing signs of the early stages of dementia...
Gray is a former Texas Ranger who had to quit his job and take care of his Uncle Frank, who also is battling dementia. Gray loves tormenting and teasing Erin, but when these four people are thrown together, will they be able to live in peace and harmony?

The author has penned a beautiful and heartwarming story that deals with family issues that a lot of families are facing or have faced, and it will touch your heart. This is the story of Erin Steele and Gray Randall, and the character development is excellent. These two fit into the category of being "different" as far as the town's people are concerned but find themselves needing each other's help. Will this lead to a HEA for them. Be sure to read this story to find out. I really enjoyed this one and I know you will too.

Cyndi has done it again. This is another best seller. The characters are wonderful and the story is so heartwarming.
As a home health aid years ago, I can relate to the characters and the struggle that Gray and Erin are going through. I have seen many caregivers who had the same heart retching experiences. It is so hard to see your love one lose their memory and not know who you are.
The story is so true to life. You will want to read this book and I highly recommend it.

Bittersweet story; mostly sweet. Erin is taking care of her mother who suffers from dementia. Gray is taking care of his uncle who suffers from the same malady. Erin and Gray have no use for each other and usually clash when they happen to run into each other, until his uncle and her mother meet and fall in love. Erin and Gray realize , if they work together, life would be easier for all four of them

This story has great characters and wonderful dialogue.
Yeah, the female is a bit shrewish and standoffish and dresses in a frumpy manner, but she's got reasons.
Only the one-eyed man in town can see her through her disguise for the beauty she is and that upsets him. He had no time to be distracted by a pretty lady.
There's a wonderful set-up and causes them to marry and then they have to learn to live together.

Erin Steele is known in the town of Mill Ridge as reserved and not the most approachable person. Captain Grayson Randall has left the Rangers and is caring for his Uncle when he encounters Erin. Grayson finds her a spitfire and loves to give her a hard time, she intrigues him. When a his uncle and her mom put them in a tough spot they are forced to work together. I enjoyed this story and can't wait to read more from this series.

Fantastic book
It was a such a sweet book and love the characters. How Erin disguise her beauty and how she blame herself on what happened in the past and Grey made a promise to care for he's uncle. How they touch on living with people you love that has dementia. Give it a A, wonderful book.

Really LOVED this book! The author handled the dementia issue with a great deal of understanding and compassion. Recommend this book for anyone looking for a great Christmas book that deals with alot of great family issues and solutions

I can't think of a better story for a new found family
Such a put together wonderful family. 2 broken people being taken care of by 2 broken people. This is a family made of pure love and devotion.

Really Enjoying This Series
I love this series and all the characters. Gray and Erin's story is so good. These two didn't like each other at first but circumstances put them together and in time everything changed. A wonderful Christmas read.

A Nice Christmas tale. One of dedication to caring for two elderly family members with one with alztimers making it even harder to care for. But when those two fall in love and marry their caregivers have to marry as well since it’s not right for a woman to be seen at a mans house. Will their marriage turn into a real one? Or the stress of their caring for their family break them? Nice story no language or sexual references so I can recommend this to my advanced reading preteen friends.
