Developing Expert Leadership For Future Schools

Rate this book
Based on the authors' research on the behaviour and thinking of school leaders, this volume presents arguments about the natue of expert school leadership. It parallels developments in the field from the early 1980s when the emphasis was on identifying the behaviours of effective principals, to the early 1990s, when the focus shifted to understanding the thinking underlying those behaviours. The ideas contained in this book should be useful in helping practising educationalists develop the skills involved in school leadership.

The book is divided into three main parts that concerns some of the attempts to prepare leaders for future schools. Part one discussed some of the perspectives on developing expert leadership. The writer moved into the nature of expert leadership, in the second part, which analyzed some researches. These researches examined different aspects and its impact on developing expert leadership for future schools, like values, chaos theory, teacher development and how expert leadership in the Swamp. The last part examined some of the crucial topics like the characteristics of the programms must be applied to develop expert leadership in schools.
I found the book very interesting to be examined more than once because it has a solid structure and rational development of the main topic. And it can be a worth reference for researches to extend the studies were discussed in the book.
