I find prayer books helpful to supplement my personal prayers. This one, specifically geared towards the challenges of teens, was helpful to an extent. It is pretty solid Biblically. Some of the topics weren't applicable to my children, but that is to be expected. Unlike "Prayers for Prodigals", this one didn't challenge me quite as much to trust God in all things. It was worthwhile, but not something I will return to.
Even though this book was published 20 years ago, the petitioning prayers for teenagers & the scripture support are timeless. This was a helpful companion read during my devotional time.
These prayers cover a variety of topics, but do so in a tasteful and biblically-based way. I loved the beautiful phrasing, and the way the author turned my thoughts from my worries and failures with my teen to considering my own relationship with God and whether I, too, was susceptible to similar weaknesses. I highly recommend this to other parents of teens.
This book has helped me through a lot of the problems in raising my teen. It has been great to know that there is support from other parents, but most important our Lord and Savior. I recommend this to all parents struggling through these teen years.
