Very good

You dont have to be a horse person to read this book although it is even better if you are. I see God every day when I am out with my hoses, however this book taught me to look even more for those God moments with my horses.

“Amazing Grays/Amazing Grace” is the first book I’ve read by author Lynn Baber, and I must say … what a way to start! Mrs. Baber has worked with horses most of her life, and through this work, proves without a doubt that God reaches us and teaches us right where we are. In the Bible, Jesus spoke in parables, teaching us spiritual principles that we would have no other way of grasping without the means of examples from this fleshly world. And that’s exactly what Lynn Baber does in “Amazing Grays/Amazing Grace.” She displays remarkable spiritual insight, paralleling her experiences with horses to our experiences with God, in a series of devotions that can be read individually, or several together. Mrs. Baber has touched a part of me deep within my spirit, and I am greatly blessed for having not only read her book, but having met her in person as well. I give this incredible, well-written work, the highest of commendations.

Amazing Grays, Amazing Grace is an amazing read. This book is a great read for anyone desiring a better understanding of God’s grace and how it applies to our living. Author Lynn Baber draws upon her knowledge and experience as a professional horse trainer to make the pages of Scripture come alive to us. The Lord had to teach Lynn many lessons of life and he used what she knows best, horses, to do it. While I am from the city and have had no experience with horses, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I have been a pastor/teacher of the Gospel for over 40 years and I was challenged and grew in my understanding of God’s amazing grace. This book can be used very effectively as a devotional guide or group study. It is a very interesting and good read, but it is a lot more than that. Amazing Grays, Amazing Grace is a resource God has provided for his children to better understand him, his love for us, and his ways. I highly recommend this book to you.

I enjoyed this book, but there were parts that didn't make any sense to me. The whole part about the "scent of freedom" just didn't seem to have a purpose or really have a conclusion. I understood how it was supposed to relate with Jesus Christ, but the horse analogy didn't really have an ending. There were other parts I didn't agree with, like the cat being put in a shelter. I feel like if you make a commitment to an animal, it isn't fair to expect them to live up to all your standards, and to abandon them if they don't.
