Based on a true story, this tells the tale of Thembi, an HIV-positive woman training to run the Comrades Marathon. She wants to run the marathon before she dies. The story explores her training programme and how she felt while training. Readers get an idea of what it is like to train for a marathon. At the end, she completes the marathon with the support of her brother and her friends.

She is a staff member at Cabuwazi Children's and Youth Circus and a member of the board of the Berlin-Brandenburg State Working Group for Children's and Youth Circus (LAG Zirkus).
