The Adventures of a Common Man #1

The Adventures of a Common Man

'My name is Pierre Jacque Russey. My friends call me Pete. I would like to invite you into my world. If you take up my offer and enter, be forewarned. You just might find yourself identifying with it.' A common man's life is full of unique stories. Pete Russey is an ordinary man born in an ordinary town in a fairly ordinary family. He has lived an ordinary life. But that doesn't mean his life is without its out-of-the-ordinary moments, captured here in a collection of tales that every reader can relate to. Travel with Pete on his boyhood camping trip in the Summerville Woods, where he and his pals have an unexpected stalker. Learn the language of dogs when he meets his girlfriend's Pekinese. Solve the mystery of the murder in his classroom. Join the race with the Little Zebra. Get lost in the trip to Spain. And through it all, enjoy the laughs and experience life through another's eyes. The Adventures of a Common Man are worth noting.

When you read this book, you can find yourself in Pete Russey. He is us. He is everyone. He lives an 'ordinary' life. Just like any one of us, he seeks those out-of-the-ordinary moments. It makes you reflect on the life you are living. This made me think about my life. Yes, it's the people I love and the moments we share that truly put the extra in extraordinary.

Well done, DeRousse!

The Adventures of a Common Man by Edmond P. DeRousse is an entertaining book at first, but also a book that inspired reflection into your own life. That is the reason I gave it a 5 star rating. The adventures he describes are the stuff of almost every American life. Snipe hunting, motorcycle riding, imperfect neighbors, job hunting, camping and fishing all are things that most of us can identify with. Ed's story goes deeper than these experiences. I found it a window into the way men think and respond to situations in life. I look forward to reading more from this talented author.

The Adventures of a Common Man by Edmond P. DeRousse is a clever peek into the life adventures of a humble, hardworking, family man. DeRousse has the unique gift of writing about the common man’s life in such an entertaining and personal way that you can‘t help but feel you have spent time with a good friend. The adventures are at times heartwarming, laugh-out-loud hilarious, and always interesting. I especially liked how after reading all of the humorous messes Pete got himself into, I didn’t feel quite so bad about all the messes I got myself into over the years. I also found the book inspiring in many ways, but the thing that touched me most was the story of Pete’s spiritual journey in later life. I have no hesitation in recommending this book to anyone who loves to read enjoyable, fun, inspiring literature.
