The Great American Quilts 1987 is a beautifully illustrated and has colored pictures of each quilt, information about the maker of the quilt pictured with photos of these makers, complete fabric requirements and templates to copy. The table of contents, instructions are east to follow and it includes four templates on clouded printed vinyl plus two empty sheets to make your own templates from the book. I really enjoyed how organized and it was an inspiration to take up quilting several times over the years. Some of the book I have from the 1980's on quilting the pictures and fabrics look dated but this one doesn't; they all look modern and would make wonderful projects today.

My cousins gave me my aunt's library of quilt books when I visited Michigan this past weekend. This one featured lots of lovely quilts, most of which are way beyond my capabilities.
