Bubble Story Time. This rating is specifically about this book's usefulness for Story Time. It looks a good beginning reader but it's lack of a story is problematic.

What a cute way to introduce rhyming to young children! Although this book can be challenging at times to read aloud to a class because of the rhyming of the words it is entertaining . This was such a fun book to read because of the way it was written. The rhyming of the story can become a huge tongue twister if it is your first time reading it aloud. I would suggest practicing reading this book aloud before you read it aloud to your class. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in a clever rhyming book for kids.

We read this book in the combined series "Quite Enough Hot Dogs". It's a cute, rhyming story but was too easy for my 5-year-old to read.

"Dip the stick in bubble stuff.
Give a slow and steady puff.
Oh! Oh! See them grow."

The bubbles then start to float away as the kids chase after them. They were sad when a bubble floated into a tree and popped on a tree branch.

"Bubbles come and bubbles go.
Dip the stick again and blow."

We blew bubbles while reading this. Aside from the double entendre that kept my husband and I laughing, this is still a worthwhile read. Cute story, cute message and I like the vocab list at the back of the book. I definitely recommend the interactive approach and get some bubbles to go with the story - it's what makes this book 5 stars for my family.

This is a useful book to learn more about the pillars of literacy. The word list in the book is helpful. It would be fun to use this book in a lesson and blow bubbles.
