Learning tai chi by teaching yourself is a fundamentally flawed principle. While this book offers a good amount of information about the history and ideas within tai chi, it lacks the details required in order to learn the form. If you want to learn tai chi, find a good teacher and practice diligently, and use this book as a reference. But be warned, if your only experience of learning tai chi comes from this book, you won't get very far. This is a shame as the "Teach Yourself " series are generally very good but I felt the book let the side own a bit.
