In 1974, the enchanting, true story of Anna, a runaway East London waif, rescued and befriended by a young man named Fynn, dazzled readers and critics alike with its whimsical, inspirational thoughts on friendship, love, and God.
Now, in the delightfully illustrated Anna, Mister God, and the Black Knight, Annaisten years old and a charming blend of angel, imp, and just plain little girl. Here she captivates and comforts Fynn’s curmudgeonly old math professor —the Black Knight— challenging his rationalistic worldview with her worldly wise, yet joyously faith-filled, outlook. Through Anna’s eyes readers recapture that special logic of childhood innocence and clarity that strikes so near to the truth.
Fynn is the pen name of Sydney "Sid" George Hopkins. Sid was a student and later staff member at Finchden Manor, now a defunct reform school, in Tenterden Kent. Sid Hopkins spent the last years of his life living in Taunton, Somerset, England.
(This is the sequel to "Mr. God, This is Anna." While not *quite* as good, it's still well worth reading!)
I can't believe I forgot to add the Anna books sooner!!! These are beautiful stories about the wonder and light a young orphan girl brings to those who are fortunate enough to meet her. I cannot say more--words cannot describe the sweetness, the wisdom, and the love that is Anna. If everyone could know Anna, even just through these books, I believe the world would be a gentler and lovelier place.
Loved it. A continuation of the story of Anna, I was over the moon to find this book at a local book sale and keep re-reading it whenever I can. A must read for anyone who wants to try a different type of cuisine from the typical fare available in most book stores.
This was a wonderful book to read this is t he companion to Mister God, THis Is Ann, by Flynn also. I am not going to tell you what happenes at the end of the book. This book made me think about life and relationships that's all I am going to say.
