I don't know why I didn't think of beginner reader books to use in toddler time before. Not as much text and simple will work for the smaller attention spans. There are various actions the children can do along with this book. And how could I pass on a rubber duck? Perhaps I'll bring in one of my own to supplement. :-)
5/11/10 & 5/13/10 A bit long for our younger NSL toddler group. But they did all right and made some of the sounds and motions with me. They liked the very end.
Worried that his rubber duck bath toy is bored staying inside all day, the young protagonist takes him on a series of adventures outside. They play in the park and in the yard, getting dirty, and later, washing up in the tub. The rhyming text and simply drawn and colored cartoon illustrations make this a fun read for beginners and their parents. Recommended purchase. Ages 5-8.
