So many great and practical ideas and ways of thinking for the artist. Found this book immensely helpful and comforting. Wrote many notes down and underlined the hell out of this book lol... might update my review with quotes. I don’t know if this book provoked it or if it was just the right timing that aligned it but it has helped me with my artistic endeavors and helped me think and ask the right questions.

I've had this book for a while and finally sat down to read it. It's a practical guide to the many issues that can come up when someone has a life in the arts. It has suggestions for how to deal with envy, mental illness, isolation, etc. There's quotes throughout from artists of all types too.

This is an older book and very possibly out-dated, still i would suggest it to younger artists. It is very informative and realistic about doing what you love and loving what you do-and how there, are financial and Very REAL limitations on that sort of lifestyle. Being an artist is not just all rainbows, unicorns and lollipops!!! Read this book-or take it out of your local library.
