As followers of Jesus we can choose to live as favored sons in the loving care of our Father, or we can remain trapped in the old mindsets of spiritual slavery and spiritual orphanhood. The choice is critical. This book provides the practical steps to walk along The Healing Path into our destiny as sons. Co-creator of the renowned worship music series, Enter The Worship Circle, Robin Pasley is a professional musician who has also proven her excellence as a communicator and counselor. Living in Colorado with her husband and two sons she enjoys creating hand-made art, coaching women into wholeness, and designing spaces.
This book has absolutely changed my life. I think that every woman from age 14 up should read this and begin to use these tools on a daily basis. Overcoming the lies of the enemy is one of the most important things we as believers have to do in order to really know the Father, and this book will teach you how to do that. Robin's story isn't full of abuse and trauma, but the kinds of things that many of us struggle with on a daily basis that can have as much of a debilitating affect as dramatic events can in our lives. Getting to the root of why we react and live the way we do, calling out the lies and seeing the Father for who He really is is the key to living life to the fullest. If you know me, you've seen the change in my life in the past 3 years, and it all started with this book. Don't hesitate, but know that the enemy will fight for you to stall out and not finish. It took me six months of believing that I wasn't ready before I could tackle what was going on in my heart!
I read as few nonfiction books as I can get away with, but, Robin Pasley's The Healing Path was the most pivotal book of any genre I've read in the past decade. One of my sons gave it to me for Christmas because he knew Robin spoke directly to the brokenness inside me.
Generally, I avoid self-help books because, rather than helping, they load on the guilt--probably a result of my Catholic upbringing. This book, however, felt like consuming light. It was a laser that truly did heal. I read it slowly, savoring the brightness, letting it do its work. The questions posed in the final section of the book were as instrumental in healing as the content in the rest of the book.
I recommend The Healing Path to anyone who struggles with measuring up, failure, guilt, believing God loves us in our present state. 5+ Stars
My wife wrote this book and I had the privilege of helping edit and prepare the book for publishing via The Empowerment House author's service. Do I love it? Of course! I confess my investment in it so you can weigh my review: I think this may be the most practical and pointed work on understanding the difference between walking as a son or walking as a slave or an orphan in our worldview and in our view of God. It is engaging and allows the reader to do a great deal of "fill in the blank" style participation. Perfect for self study or small group engagements. See www.robinpasley.com for more info.
This book is not for sissies. If you want transformation in your walk with God, this book is for you. Be ready to dig deep, be challenged, blessed and come away knowing God more!
