Essays on the Pedagogy of Asking: A Philosophical Entreaty on Behalf of Children II

Rate this book
This text is a second, more compact size, and companion edition to Essays on the Pedagogy of Asking: A Philosophical Entreaty on Behalf of Children. It features an extended Epilogue with children in narrative dialogue. Once again the emphasis is on a pedagogical approach that provides a space and the encouragement for children to think for themselves in a classroom community of inquiry. The text likewise seeks to provide a philosophical justification and plausible warrant for providing this opportunity for children. One's pedagogy alway extends from a belief about what it means to be a human person and how best to recognize and respect that sense of personhood and human destiny in each child. This of course extends to the adults in our midst as well.
