Taking a close look at Biblical accounts of Satan, his origin, his strategies and his defeat, this book urges Christians to take seriously the spiritual battle to which they are called, encouraging confidence in the knowledge that Christ has won the supreme victory over evil and that the culmination of all history will demonstrate this.
Edward Michael Bankes Green, known as Michael Green, was a British theologian, Anglican priest, Christian apologist and author of more than fifty Christian books. He served as the Canon Missioner of Holy Trinity Church in Raleigh, North Carolina through 2007.
A bit interesting but generally disappointing; the book is a rather repetitive 1980s outmoded evangelical theology work, with a disappointing lack of analysis of the Church Fathers or the early Church teachings on the subject.
Written in the early 1980s, and currently out of print, this book deals with the supernatural aspects of the Christian faith, particularly focusing on the demonic. The author does a good job of combining Biblical commentary with analysis of the real world, and I was pleasantly surprised by how relevant his insights were, in many cases. He provides a good introduction to topics like demons and exorcism, but also gives more in-depth insights on these topics.
