A wonderful book I love this story. It is a great book and opens discussions regarding bullying, self-confidence and self-esteem!
This is a must read. Read it out loud in an animated manner and then subtly start discussing the content. As your child becomes more and more comfortable you may be surprised to hear what he or she has experienced or witnessed on the play ground or classroom. I found this book served as a fun read and great starter for some amazing conversations. My children love this book. The illustrations are bright and childlike. My children adore the illustrations.

I revived the book when I held the title of Miss Dixie in high school and as a community out reach myself and some of the other queens in my parish read to some local girls. The book teaches the importance of true beauty, friendship, and the importance of believing in ones self.
After collage, I taught lower elementary for a few years and this book really helped introduce a lot of thing about our state to the children.
