This book is recommended for My Father's World Homeschool Curriculum. My 1st grader found chapters on addition and subtraction too difficult for his comprehension (specifically 2 digit addition and subtraction). Those chapters have far too many equations on one page, IMO. The rest of the book was very fun for him. He especially liked place value and fractions. I may return to the 2 digit addition and subtraction pages when he proves he is ready for them. But at this stage in his learning, he just couldn't do it-the quantity of equations on one page was intimidating, and proved to be a huge deterrent to his interest.

Overall, I do think this is an excellent resource, but I am saving the harder chapters for second grade (after all, this is for grades 1-2).
