This book was really slow starting out. In fact, it didn't get interesting at all until at least halfway through. There was a lot of description so it could be skimmed if you don't like that sort of thing. After the initial introductions of characters the story begins to pick up and around the middle of the book it does get fun. Hang with it and I think adventure readers will like it. There are at least 10 books more in the set and I hope that now we have it all set up the series flys.
I loved this book and have since read about 4 of the sequels and enjoyed these too! I am hoping to get around to finishing this series soon and highly recommend it for boys & girls, as a middle grade reader, YA fiction and for adults who enjoy reading children's books or YA fiction!
