Introduction to the topic of time makes one wonder whether one knew at all what time is? The first chapter explains time as being two parameters, 'time of being' & 'time of becoming'. Time is explained using theoretical physics (wouldn't have want it any other way), mathematics & philosophy so basic knowledge of calculus (esp. differentiation) and logical thinking is required. Time and time again (the irony!), ‘spacetime’ is explained as a fourth dimensional model so a bit of geometrical knowledge comes in handy. The first chapter is quite overwhelming, it forces one’s brain to stop, think, assess and re-think almost every sentence. But that did not deter me from reading on. If I thought that Katinka had done a great job exploring time using a multidisciplinary approach, I was in for a huge surprise.
Later chapters delve into time travel, genetics of time and story telling. The last chapter is dedicated to time and its role in religion. I never knew that one could dissect time with such great enthusiasm.
