Synopsis of the Bible: The Salvation Story

Rate this book
Many people have never read through the Bible – it is lengthy, and much of it can be confusing when taken out of context. Though the Bible consists of 66 books, penned by many authors, its cohesiveness is amazing, and it continues to be relevant, although the books within were written from approximately 3,000 to 2,000 years ago; some of the records/genealogies date back more than 6,000 years! The recurring theme is God’s love for His creation and His desire for a relationship with mankind – and man’s self-centered refusal to glorify and worship God as Creator. Through the Scriptures we learn the difference between good, which is defined as worshipping God and caring for fellow human beings, and evil, which is characterized by selfishness and the harmful desires and actions which follow. God reveals Himself to us through His prophets and stories. As early as the book of Genesis, the LORD indicated that in His plan for salvation, He will provide what is needed – He Himself will become our Messiah (Savior). In other words, the Old Testament points us to Yeshua (Jesus) and the New Testament ministers to us, in light of the work Jesus has already done on our behalf, as we await His second coming.
