Alex compares his younger brother William with himself and concludes that because William is so different, he must have come from outer space to join this otherwise perfect family.
Personal Reaction - I like this book because the title implies the story and the illustrations help to get a fertile imagination. Children love this subject and illustrations.
Purposes- Read aloud to K-2 children for several potential purposes: - Accepting sibling as new family members - Understanding how to share things that used to be possessed by only themselves before their siblings are born. - This book has figurative expressions. The title also indicates how the boy has thought about his younger brother figuratively. It enhances children's interests and makes them to become familiar with metamorphic expressions. - Discussion of the existence of aliens from another planet. - The structure of this book is simple and easy to understand.
Cute book dealing with sibling revelry. The oldest brother is convinced his younger brother is an alien. Years later they are packing up for college and they discover they were both aliens. Good book showing common sibling revelry.

A very fun and quirky book about a big brother who is convinced his young sibling must be from outer space because they are SO different. He collects "evidence" and puts in it a notebook. Very charming ending.
