It's the only way to make success completely inevitable. Irresistible Persuasion shows you how to entice people to your point of view, how to overcome resistance, how a bit of showbiz can go a long way and why you should always consider the other person when you're negotiating. It's packed with new persuasion and influencing techniques as well as many powerful traditional methods. Geoff Burch is the presenter of BBC TV's All Over the Shop . When he's helped you decide what you want, he'll show you the irresistible way to get it. You won't just get more customers, you'll get more profitable customers.
The title of this book sets out a very bold claim. Unfortunately, however, it fell somewhat short of meeting that.
Whilst some of the 257 pages provided some valuable insights, these were few and far between, with most of the words taken up by what can only be described as 'padding'.
For the price of admission (paid at the time), I wasn't too disappointed; however, at the current £10+ mark, I would stay well clear.
I was hoping there would be something in here about other types of persuasion, but this is actually all about persuading someone in sales or marketing. The advice is good, but narrow and unfortunately not what I was hoping for. The chapter on psychology at the end was worth an extra star though.
Ever read a book which takes 50 page to set the context? Absolutely Verbiage. There are around ten thousand stories and incidents which author has described trying to prove his point which is so “bleeding obvious”.( He hates this word). I gave up after completing around 40% of book as it was really not going anywhere.
I listen around 15 books a year and this is by far the worst one I ever listened in last three years.
