The inimitable pen of Gene Edwards presents this breathtaking story of the believer's relationship to death and to life hereafter. Expect the unexpected in Dear Lillian, as Edwards declares. "Let's not start at the point of death, as it is the middle of the story. Let us return, first, to the time before creation. Your story of life, death and your place in future eternity begins before the creation." Rich in hope and abounding with comfort, there has never been a book like Dear Lillian.
Gene Edwards is one of America's most beloved Christian authors. He has published over 25 best-selling books, and his signature work, "The Divine Romance," has been called a masterpiece of Christian literature. He has written biblical fiction covering nearly the entire Bible, with titles that include the following: "The Beginning," "The Escape," "The Birth," "The Divine Romance," "The Triumph," "Revolution," "The Silas Diary," "The Titus Diary," "The Timothy Diary," "The Priscilla Diary," "The Gaius Diary," and "The Return."
Gene grew up in the East Texas oil fields and entered college at the age of 15. He graduated from East Texas State University at 18 with a bachelor's degree in English history and received his M.Div. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Gene is part of the house-church movement, and he travels extensively to aid Christians as they begin meeting in homes rather than in church buildings. He also conducts conferences on living the deeper Christian life.
Gene and his wife, Helen, reside in Jacksonville, Florida, and have two grown children.
This is a very quick read, focusing on the realities that death is not the end for those who know Jesus. There were many helpful reminders throughout and it’s written in a style that adds mystery and whimsy to the topic. Grateful for this piece and the help in remembering that this broken earth is not the end of the story. The end had numerous scriptures related to the topic of death and eternity and that was very lovely as well!
I love Gene Edward's writing! Amazing concept for the one this book was written to, and for others questioning life after death. Eschatology shrouded throughout. Makes me think on my theology.
Real poor ebook design on my Kindal. Spelling errors. Layout issues. New sections not introduced. Made it feel like this letter/book was rushed, and not given the attention to detail it needed.
