Eight ecosystems - forests, oceans, deserts, poles, mountains, wetlands, plains, and cities are described for their specificity, the species that inhabit them, and the involvement of humans in each. This book is a tribute to the beauty of the earth, and it urges us to preserve it.
This was one big book in terms of physical size. The benefit of that is getting to see the beautiful photography in a large format. I liked the way this book was divided up into different areas with a introductory couple of pages and then letting the photos do the talking.
Lovely big coffee-table book of gorgeous photographs exploring different natural habitats and also the (usually destructive) impact of humanity on our environment.
