This book provided excellent guidance for me as I began to explore my Irish heritage. With thousands of books to choose from, where should I begin and how to decide. I wanted to choose books that were worth my time and money. The organization of the book into genres was very helpful as I expanded my reading from history and folklore to poetry, short stories, historical fiction, modern novels and memoir. Morgan Llywelyn did a masterful job of describing the books in enough detail to guide my exploration as well as providing a literary and historical context for each title.

Now I have even more books on my to-read list! Llywelyn divides the books by type and gives a brief synopsis of each as well as a short bio of the authors.
