Piccolo the Initiare: The Dark Gate

by Robin M. Ambrozic, David Champlin (Cover Design)

“Come and die, Piccolo!”
Piccolo smugly wiped the blood from her lips. Dying wasn’t in her plans. Gray/black magic crackled in her hands as she stood facing the Man in the Black Cape. She knew her power could easily overcome him, but it would come at a terrible price. A price she had been willing to pay after walking the Dragon Line and reaching the Circle of Tiamat, but now with the Dark Gate active, she wasn’t sure anymore. Was destroying her soul a fair price to pay for a people that feared and hated her. Did the Gray Lord’s warning really come down to two choices: Die defending the land you love or let it burn to save yourself. Piccolo smiled; the choice was easy.

A continuation of Piccolo's coming of age and understanding the world around her. I love that she doesn't back away from challenges. She portrays a strong female role model for young women (and men).

This book carried on from the one before, and Piccolo's adventure continued. It was a page turner and I wanted to skip to the end to see where she landed! Must read!
