At school she developed an attachment to words and later became an actor, then a storyteller, and finally a writer of children's books. She is the author of more than two hundred books. Ms. French lives in Edinburgh, Scotland, and has four grown daughters.
This is a nice story with lots of information about grey whales and their migrations. Too much text for a read aloud, but a great resource for elementary age kids interested in whales and the ocean.
A great book about the story of a whale, teaching about a little baby whale from birth through it's first journey north. There are just so many dangers for one little whale to encounter!
A bit long, and with a much more grown-up text than can hold a small child's fancy, my toddler was more interested in flipping about the book while I read, checking out the various pictures in cool greens and blues.
