In October 1995, my cousin was killed in a mob hit. The report says he was riddled with bullets while he slept. I remember getting the call. I remember thinking this only happens in movies. It hit close to home. Over the years, I’ve always been intrigued and would periodically Google his name. So in true form, years past and I searched for an update. That’s when I found this book. I ordered it on Amazon because I’ve always wanted to know what my cousin was involved in that lead to his murder.
I thought it was written well and very thorough. Davidson clearly gave blood, sweat and tears to investigate and report on this case. For me it was like watching a DeNiro or Pacino movie, but realizing that this shit really exists and happens.

I have always been interested in organized crime families, so I had to get this book when I found it at a used book shop. I was very interested in the story, though I felt that the book was a littler longer than necessary in comparison with the information it provided. It could have wrapped up a bit quicker. The book seemed well researched and factual. It was a decent book overall.

Started strong but fizzled out by the end. I can't really recommend this one.

This was an interesting story, if you find the Mafia interesting, but at 285 pages I thought the book was longer than there was material to support a full novel. The author repeated parts of the story on numerous occasions. It actually could have been shorter but it's a quick, easy read that will lure you in quickly but leave you feeling a little let down.
