Lovely book I used to research my local area while writing . . . and which inspired me to start hiking a bit last summer. Both informative about the places it describes and detailed about the best ways to approach them.

This was a good book. It helped us explore new trails and to step away from our usual haunts. If I recall, it also included whether trails were dog friendly.
