40 Days in Heaven: The True Testimony of Seneca Sodi's Visitation to Paradise, the Holy City and the Glory of God's Throne

Rate this book
The amazing and inspiring true testimony of Seneca Sodi's actual visitation to heaven including touring Paradise, the vastness of the Holy City of New Jerusalem and visiting God's Throne for a celebratory praise service attended by millions of saints and angels. The most memorable events in this testimony undoubtedly begin with the family reunions Seneca has with close relatives, such as his grandfather, mother, wife and daughter who died while still an infant of only a few months of age, but who grew up into adulthood in heaven, having been raised by angels, saints and family members who had already made the great journey to Heaven themselves. There is also the lasting impression of utter peace and security, the heavenly atmosphere free from strife, sickness, fear and death, the heavenly society of mankind united into one large extended family shared by death bed conversions, innocent children from every nation who died of war, sickness or other tragedy, and saints of renown. For some the highlight may be Seneca's chance to discuss theology with Abraham, Moses, Isaiah, Paul and many others--for others still it could be the overwhelmingly glorious visit to the Throne of God. It's been 100 years since this testimony first came to light, and far from proving to be an isolated story, such heavenly experiences are becoming more and more common. Some more recent testimonies which do much to support this one include H. A. Baker's Visions Beyond the Veil, Mary K. Baxter's visitations to both Heaven as well as Hell, Anna Rountree's The Heavens Opens, and The Priestly Bride, and many others. Heaven is real, and this story will impart hope, strengthen your faith, and is sure to become a spiritual classic.

Wow this book! This testimony of heaven is probably one of the best I’ve ever read! The sheer detail was mesmerizing. The conversations with the saints and those who’ve gone before was breathtaking. This book has made me more excited to go to my heavenly home one day.

This was a very thought-provoking book. Not only is it about a NDE (or death experience), but it happened in the early 1900's. It is the testimony of Seneca Sodi, who died, went to heaven, then returned to earth at God's request to report what he saw there. His story is very interesting. He seems to be a very devout man, and his story has a true ring to it.

This testimony of Heaven gave me an insight like no other testimony has. It made me want to meet and sit with every other believer who has gone ahead. It is a wonderful, wonderful book. God bless Seneca Sodi and Elwood Scott.

Beautiful!

I couldn't read fast enough of the beautiful blessings our Lord Jesus has prepared for us. As my own questions came to my mind they would be answered as quickly as I thought of them as I read. Thank you Lord Jesus for having this book cross my path on this earthly journey!!!!

I like this keeper because it's extremely detailed. Elwood Scott tells how Seneca Sodi met with ancient saints to discuss Heaven. He gets many of his questions answered, and they line up with scripture. I give it four instead of five stars only because the reading can be a bit slow and dry. At times it seems repetitive. The grammar is impeccable, however. For a book from the early 1900s, it's a fresh read. I especially like Seneca's meeting with Moses. Seneca, a Greek Jew, met Bohemond, a native Russian, who befriended him in Heaven. Together they see the Lord who has a right seat for Jesus Christ.

2018 review:

This early 20th century manuscript was remastered and published to be reread for today's audience. It's clear, though, that the Heavenly inhabitants have old-fashioned, more rigorous speech than we do today, and say "Oh" as a preference to monologue/dialogue. Seneca Sodi has a vision in which he leaves his body and experiences Heaven. He meets the major saints, visits the throne room of God, and sees his grandfather, wife, mother, and daughter. Paul reveals that the thorn in his flesh, while on Earth, was a man who was against him. Seneca visits Jonah in his mansion. Jonah confirms that the Old Testament is 100 percent real and literal. In Heaven, mansions can be entered freely, for everything belongs to everyone equally. There are pleasure parks, tons of fruit, and David driving many chariots, a lot of worship centers, and a Children's Polytechnic.
